For today’s large engineering projects, multiple processes exist to help track and manage details throughout a product’s development. A common technique, known as Product Line Engineering (PLE), aims to track and document the components of a design, in order to take full advantage of their re-use. Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), on the other hand, replaces traditional written documents with a single, unified model of the project, based on more explicit project definitions. By taking an MBSE approach using a tool like MapleMBSE, engineers can track, analyze, and collaborate on projects in more systematic, effective manner.
