Maple Readiness Assessment

- Training: Student will receive free, self-directed training materials to work through on their own time.
- Self-assessment: Students complete a quiz which lets them know if they have mastered the basics, and shows them the things they are missing.
- Feedback: Instructors will receive a report on the class's participation and performance on the assessment quiz, so you'll know if your class is prepared.
Also available as a follow-up to a Maple Bootcamp.
Thank you again for the excellent bootcamps you organized last week for my Calculus I and Calculus II classes. Your bootcamp presentations were quick, efficient, clearly presented and best of all, provided students a good beginning from which to start using Maple!

How it Works
With a Maple Bootcamp,
your students will receive:
- Training delivered over Zoom, a free remote conferencing service
- You need an internet connection, projector, and speakers in the room where students will receive the training (typically their regular classroom)
- Session lasts approximately 20 minutes
- Students do not require access to computers during the presentation
- After the session, students will be given hands-on Maple training resources to reinforce what they’ve learned
With a Maple Bootcamp for Instructors,
you will receive:
- Between 1-20 instructors teaching the same course may attend. Multiple sessions can be arranged for larger groups and/or for different courses
- Training delivered over Zoom, a free remote conferencing service
- Requires an internet connection in the room where the training will take place
- Depending on the number of attendees, you will need headphones or speakers, and potentially a projector. For very small groups, a phone is recommended for asking questions
- Session lasts approximately 30-60 minutes
- Attendees do not require access to computers during the presentation
The Maple Bootcamp gave my students an overview of Maple and its capabilities, particularly related to their study of calculus. The session gave them confidence that they would be able to do some cool work in Maple without having to learn the commands right away. Karishma also showed them how they can use the clickable commands to perform the operations they wanted to carry out then see the Maple commands, allowing them to gradually learn to use commands to accomplish their goals. Having the templates and clickable menu really eliminates barriers for new Maple users and the bootcamp presenter did a great job conveying that!
